Delete SNS Messages / Delete text, call history

I want to delete my text message history but it does not seem possible.

We know we can delete individual text messages, but when you open Contacts, then go to the History tab, all the sent and received text messages are there, and even the first sentence is kept. You select on it and it says "Message Deleted" but what's the point if the first few words are there, timestamp, recepient, etc.

When you click on the context menu button (bottom left button), and select Delete, you get another message "SNS messages cannot be deleted."

Anyone know a solution to this? Do I have to jailbreak/root the phone and find a solution that way?
